I believe that each person has their own unique story, struggles, and strengths, and I tailor my approach to meet your individual needs.

I am a compassionate and dedicated therapist providing individual and couples counseling services. With a warm and empathetic approach, I strive to create a safe and nurturing environment where clients can explore their emotions, strengthen their relationships, and achieve personal growth. I believe in the power of empathy and actively incorporate person-centered therapy into my practice. I recognize that each person has their own unique story, struggles, and strengths, and I tailor my approach to meet your individual needs. By providing a nonjudgmental space, I help clients explore their thoughts, feelings, and experiences in a supportive and collaborative manner.

With extensive experience working with adult individuals and couples, I address a wide range of concerns, including but not limited to:

1. Trauma: The primary goal of trauma therapy is to help individuals heal from the effects of trauma and regain a sense of safety, control, and empowerment in their lives. Trauma therapy is a highly individualized process, and the pace of therapy is guided by the client's readiness and comfort level. I will collaborate with you to create a personalized treatment plan that addresses your unique needs, promotes healing, and supports your overall well-being.

2. Anxiety and Depression: I assist clients in managing and alleviating symptoms of anxiety and depression, empowering them to develop effective coping strategies and cultivate emotional well-being.

3. Relationship Issues: Whether facing communication difficulties, trust issues, or conflicts, I help couples navigate their challenges, deepen their connection, and rebuild a healthier and more fulfilling relationship.

4. Life Transitions: From career changes to becoming empty nesters, I support individuals and couples in navigating major life transitions, helping them find clarity, meaning, and adaptability.

5. Self-Exploration and Personal Growth: I guide clients on a journey of self-discovery, fostering self-compassion and empowering them to develop a stronger sense of self, purpose, and fulfillment.

6. ADHD: As someone with late-diagnosed ADHD, I understand the unique challenges that come with neurodiversity. Many adults with ADHD struggle due to a lack of awareness, education, and social stigma associated with the label. If you're interested in exploring further, I'd be happy to chat with you about ADHD norms and provide knowledge and resources to help you attain a better sense of personal control and self-awareness.

Outside of therapy, you can find me climbing, paddle-boarding, painting, cooking, jogging, or relaxing with my cat Peaches. I also love exploring cool places around Austin with my partner.

If you are interested in working together, please feel free to reach out via email or phone call. I look forward to connecting with you.

Background

I obtained my Master of Science in Social Work from the Steve Hicks School of Social Work at The University of Texas at Austin.

With over four years of experience working in diverse settings such as research, therapy practices, high schools, and juvenile detention centers, I've had the opportunity to work with adults, couples, adolescents, and families facing a wide range of challenges. My work has also involved navigating complex systems such as crime victims’ rights, Child Protection Services, and the court system. Through my experience, I've gained expertise and training in various clinical frameworks, including trauma-focused cognitive behavioral therapy, motivational interviewing, solutions-oriented brief therapy, dialectical behavioral therapy, and cognitive processing therapy.
